The idea behind Edwin originated in Japan just after the Second World War when KK Tsunemi started importing worn out jeans from America and repairing them to sell on. There was a distinct lack of quality denim in Japan at the time, which created a huge problem for a fledgling denim brand. Edwin really came into its own in 1961 when Mr Tsunemi began manufacturing his own denim and the rest is history.
The Autumn/Winter collection is created using only premium Japanese and European denim fabrics. There’s selvedge, non-selvedge, washed and un-washed ensuring there’s something to satisfy everyone’s 5 pocket needs.
Aside from the denim, Edwin use a variety of prints and patterns in seasonal tones with fabrics ranging from waxed cotton to double-faced printed wools. Some favourites from the collection include the Docker Sweater, Labour Shirt and the ED-80’s.
