Think Easter, think too much chocolate, traffic jams and rainy day trips. Not especially appealing is it? Well don’t you worry, we’ve put together a few cracking ideas giving you the tools to ensure you have your best Easter holiday yet!
If you’re tired of Blighty then why not opt for a city break with a difference guarenteed to put a spring back in your step. Here are a few favourites from the Woodhouse team.
Paris – An amazing city of the best of times April is an exceptional time to visit the French capital. If you’re a foodie then Paris is definitely the go to destination, wander down one of its many quaint streets and it’s more than likely you’ll find yourself in the most exceptional bistro you’ve ever come across.
Munich – The south of Germany sees the best weather during Spring which is why Munich is our Bavarian city of choice. The German’s seem to love any excuse to pop up a market and Easter is no exception with the Ostermarkts in full swing. So why not head over and swap your mini eggs for a bratwurst and a pint… sounds like a good deal to us.
Rome – If you’re a culture vulture then it has to be Rome. The city celebrates its biggest holiday over the easter period so although it’s busy the atmosphere is second to none with thousands of people making the pilgrimage to the city. Be sure to visit the Vatican and Colosseum whilst there.
What to wear
When packing for a city break it’s all about getting the balance right, you don’t need to take your whole wardrobe, just some essential items that will make the transition from day time wanderings to evening dinner and drinks with little resistance.
Although the sun will (hopefully) be shining the temperatures won’t be super high so a lightweight jacket is important, layer this with thin knits and staple tees whilst not forgetting to pack a couple of shirts for evenings. Chinos are always a good call for spring but throw a modern twist on a classic with slimmed down fits.
Now to the most important item… footwear! Remember that with a city break the likelihood is you’ll be on your feet a lot, go safe and invest in some quality sneakers and remember, they don’t always have to be causal, we have some great premium sneakers from brands like Android Homme and Armani.
