The spring/summer season is upon us and the urge to update our wardrobes with new colour palettes, styles and lighter fabrics is becoming harder to resist as the sun is starting to show its face. If like us, you fancy treating yourself to a fresh, new, up-to-date wardrobe but are unsure of where to start, then check out our run-down of some of this season’s most desirable trends for a bit of summer wardrobe inspiration.
Bold Bomber
The bomber jacket is going to be one of this season’s most popular items, and rightly so! This style of jacket is mega versatile and can be worn smart or casual, meaning it’s definitely worth investing. We recommend treating yourself to a bomber jacket in a bold colour or one that has a design with a difference, to make your choice stand out from the inevitable bomber jacket crowd this season. Pair your bold-bomber choice with a clean, simple outfit and let your jacket do the talking.

Desert Explorer
Safari and desert inspired colour palettes (beige, brown, khaki, olive and ivory) are going to be unavoidable this year, as well as safari prints such as the leaf pattern on this polo from Pretty Green, and safari suitable accessories such as desert boots and backpacks with old-school functional details. Embrace your inner explorer this summer with a look that couldn’t be more up-to-date.

The New Blue
Shades of blue have been trending for the past two season’s now, with all-blue outfits and double denim being amongst the biggest trends last summer, and navy enjoying a spell of popularity over the autumn/winter season. This summer we’re naming sky-blue the ‘new blue’, this lighter shade was seen all over this season’s collections and is the perfect colour for the summer months. According to the catwalks, pairing this light-blue shade with grey and white is the way forward – a colour palette that is perfect for the brighter days to come.
Military Minimal
Military inspired clothing – quite possibly one of fashion’s most reoccurring trends. You’ve seen it before, however this season it is all about keeping it minimal, a fresh new take on the trend. Rather than take the obvious, overdone roots (no need for camouflage or army boots here) take a more relaxed, subtle and modern approach to the style. Pair up colours that you would associate with the military (khaki, black, olive and browns), as well as looking out for army inspired detailing such as multiple or oversized pockets. Outerwear that has made its way from the military in to streetwear such as the field jacket, bomber jacket and pull-over jacket are all key pieces this spring that will boost your military inspired look.
Grey Lux
The all-grey look as well as grey with hints of green and blue is a colour palette that has been favoured by sports-lux designers this spring/summer. Luxury sportswear has been growing in popularity over the last couple of years and was a dominant style amongst this season’s collections. Sportswear classics such as trainers, tracksuit bottoms and hooded sweatshirts are re-imagined in luxury fabrics and clean, modern designs (check out Android Homme, Creative Recreation, Cruyff and CP Company) allowing you to bring the comfort of sportswear in to your everyday wardrobe, without compromising on style.
