Picking a capsule wardrobe from our SS’14 Collections has proven to be quite a challenge, for all the right reasons. With so much quality product in our collections this season, trying to trim things down to 5 essential items has been a labour of love. That said, I’ve drawn up a list of my personal favourites for Spring / Summer months to give you a bit of style inspiration for your key wardrobe ‘must haves’.

It’s all about transitional style at this point in the year. The weather is unpredictable, so knowing how to pull an outfit together that’s fit for purpose is key to any successful look. My tip? Be yourself. We’re aiming for a more lightweight but functional wardrobe, so with this in mind, look to your lighter, breathable fabrics, inject a bit of colour or pattern to add some personality and invest in a few staple quality pieces that will see you right through the season. Simple, yet fail-safe rules to live by.

CP Company’s innovative garment dyed hooded jacket definitely takes the mantel for me in the outerwear collection, with their iconic and distinctive branding, this jacket bridges the gap between premium quality of product and style, with the classic CP branding displayed sparingly but with ultimate finesse.

Any of the shirts from our SS’14 Stone Island collection bring about a fresh new take on the signature Stone Island brand style, revived for 2014, underpinned with extensive development and research into their fabric application and processes to make for a more lightweight and breathable range for the warmer months. If I had to pick one though, it would be this blue chambray overshirt. Wear on its own, or with a casual tee, paired up with a nice pair of jeans and some sneaks for a casual look.

Next up is a collaborative piece from sporting legends Fred Perry and the master of cycling himself, Sir Bradley Wiggins. Wiggo is renowned for his styling, pair that up with the Fred Perry basic style and you’ve got a perfect blend of both sporting, cultural and musical influences, in what makes for a truly inspired result. A favourite for me? the medieval blue modernist zipped sweater. Presenting an up to date take on the mod-era style, this piece keeps up to date with the modern man, a real modern classic.

Paul Smith is a new, but strong brand for Woodhouse. They’ve really taken off with our SS’14 collections, encompassing accessories, swim, shoe and jeans ranges right through to PS Paul Smith, a smarter, more mature collection for a style conscious guy We’re marking this brand as a definite one to watch for SS’14. A particular favourite of mine from them is the slim fit raw denim jean.

Last but by no means least, my out and out highlight from our footwear ranges this season has got to be the 999s from the New Balance iconic Barbershop Pack, which we released for the Spring/Summer collections last month in our Notting Hill Store. These represent what it means to draw upon a part of history that has gone hand in hand with mens clothing pretty much since time began. Taking influence from the old fashioned barber shop, this range features unique detailing, including barber-themed striped aglets, chequered insoles and striking new colourways in grey, royal blue and pillar box red, ideal for statement style in the warmer months, not to mention packing in some serious kerb appeal.
