We have been eagerly awaiting our delivery of Barbour for AW12. With the cold weather now approaching the UK this British Brand truly excels into a league of its own. With over 100 years of experience developing outerwear to protect us from our cold and blustering winters it is no wonder that this brand has emerged as a market leader providing us with an extensive range of quality and durable jackets for AW12. Here at Woodhouse we are surprised at how Barbour is able to offer this amazing collection at such good value.

The Barbour ‘Seaskip’ Jacket.

Initially know for their rich heritage in producing wax and quilted jackets Barbour have recently diversified the range, creating both the heritage and international lines along with a new line now in its second season, a collection in conjunction with one of the coolest movie stars of his generation….the late Steve McQueen. The King of Cool’s involvement with the brand stems back to 1964 when he sported the iconic Barbour Motorcycle Jacket racing in the International six day trails event for team USA.

Barbour’s International Jacket is the Original motorcycle jacket dating back to the 1930’s. Since its conception little has fundamentally changed about the design, still featuring the adjustable waist belt, neck fasten and map pocket. The new International collection is testament to why the Jacket has positioned itself atop of Barbour’s Rostrum for over 70 years.

This season Barbour brings the revolution of the quilted jacket to it’s pinnacle; offering new shapes and styles with contemporary silhouettes and introducing new modern finishes as seen on the ‘Tatton’ Jacket. The AW12 collection seems to have surpassed even Barbour’s high expectations. Today at Woodhouse please decide for yourself which Jacket is your favourite……

The stylish Barbour ‘Tatton’ Jacket.

Although the collection is predominately focused on outerwear Barbour still offers us exciting options on shirting and heavier over-shirts which are great for Autumn. My favourite piece of this years collection has got to be the new ‘Seaskip’ Jacket as this combines the wax jacket with quilt down warmth adding inspiration from the legendary Duffle coat. This adaptable jacket suits all occasions.
