New Balance SS’14 collections are bursting with character, with fresh colourways, luxe material combinations and classic shapes. The lifestyle footwear brand has innovatively combined their knack for practicality and comfort with kerb appeal. A statement pair of sneakers can effortlessly add a stylish edge to any outfit. Style them out with a well loved pair of selvedge jeans, tee and a bomber jacket, or even a suit for our top key looks this season.

One of the biggest trends for 2014 we’ve spotted – sneakers with smart trousers, shirt and a blazer. Don’t go throwing out your brogues or loafers just yet, all we’re suggesting is that it’s ok to mix it up every now and again, after all, that’s what the concept of creating your own style is all about. There’s no clear right or wrong when it comes to pairing up your kicks with an outfit, except to say that when you’re putting an outfit together, think about your silhouette, does it balance? Go for chunky sneaks if you’re wearing a more casual look or slimline if you’re opting for a more tailored look. Simple really…

A chilly February night and a fine crowd of sneaker enthusiasts set the backdrop for a great event we hosted at our Notting Hill Store last Thursday evening, officially releasing the brand new Barbershop Pack from New Balance UK & Ireland, fresh for SS’14.

Inspired by the old-school cultural institution of the barber shop, the New Balance Elite Edition Barbershop Pack will be available in three styles, the New Balance 1600, 580 and 999, with colourways that draw upon the traditional Barber’s Pole, red, grey and blue. Additional details include pig suede and mesh uppers, striped aglets and checkerboard patterned inserts inspired by the floors of vintage barbershops. Reclaiming their relevance in a more traditionally tailored menswear industry, the humble barbershop is re-establishing itself as an essential part of male grooming and clothing. It is with this in mind that the partnership of New Balance and Woodhouse came about, with our in-house barbershop run by our friends at CARTER and BOND offering free wet shaves throughout the night, it seemed the ideal setting for the this Elite collection.

Here’s a few of our highlights from the night…
