Thinking of my Wardrobe choices for Spring Summer during a bitter and cold February is always challenging. So I tend to keep things simple until the mercury starts to rise. I buy it and wear it! So with that in mind I blend my clothing choices around classics that will serve me well, trends that are emerging and transition pieces that I will get great use out of over the next three months until Summer arrives.

ANDROID HOMME RUNYON RUNNER BLACK TRAINERS

Nobody can ignore the power of premium sneakers, to a certain extent they are less trend and more staple now as us men feel comfortable adopting the sports lux look. This new style from Android Homme is pushing the boundaries that little bit further. For me black is a safe bet when buying a trend item, plus I believe that buying the black colourway will give me greater versatility with my outfit choices.

Picking a few items from our entire range proved to be the biggest challenge. I could easily recommend every item!

LAURENWHRECS

Anyone who knows me well is aware I have a slight obsession with khaki and beige when it comes to clothing, so it is welcome news to me that these are going to be amongst the most trending colours this season with military and safari influences. I’ll have my eye on new collections from BarbourCPNudiePretty Green and Farah coming in to Woodhouse HQ as these are the brands most likely to work with this colour palette.

Sportswear giants such as AdidasFred Perry and Lacoste are always on my radar regardless of seasonal trends, I’m a big fan of old-school sportswear styles and anything with a retro feel.

FRED PERRY RE-ISSUES SAGE GREEN & GOLD PIQUE POLO SHIRT

You can’t go wrong with a classic Fred Perry polo and this green and gold colourway has to be my favourite so far from the brand’s latest arrivals. This polo would be the perfect choice for a transitional day-to-night outfit, in a colour palette that will be very much on-trend this season and certainly won’t go unnoticed.

Lightweight Jackets are the perfect compromise for the transition into summer. Dress them with layers whilst there’s still a bit of a chill, you can never have too many jackets. The style favourite this season is by far the Bomber, featuring across most SS16 collections. Sport and fashion have always gone hand in hand but it has noticeably made a major impact on trends for the past few seasons and this allows you to co-ordinate a more casual approach to your smarter attire. Nostalgia is high on the industries radar now more than ever which has encouraged brands to re-issue certain lines. On my agenda in particular are tracksuit bottoms, I am very pleased that this is an acceptable alternative to jeans and looking forward to feeling comfy with this everyday look.

BARBOUR COATER SAND WATERPROOF JACKET

Barbour are exceptionally good at achieveing high quality outerwear, and this refreshing yet on trend design is a must-have this season. Desert tones have been an inspiration across many brands in the industry lately and the best part is beige goes with practically everything. One of the colours I favour most at the moment is blue, which has been a highlighted hue for the past few seasons and to be fair is always readily available in every collection. I would piece this jacket with sky blue and navy – have a closer look how to wear this on our blog. If that’s not your bag then keep it simple – piece it with all black, which will achieve you an understated yet effective look.

Like every summer season I will be looking forward to the barrage of new colourways that the footwear brands will be releasing. With Adidas has becoming my first choice sneaker brand in the last year with the resurrection of the classic Stan Smith, the Tubular series and the NMD runner, they will be at the top of my list.

Another favourite of mine is the bomber jacket, because you can just about wear it on any occasion these days. I think it will still be very prominent in 2016, and I’m sure we will see brands releasing the piece in more luxury fabrics such as silk and suede.

PRETTY GREEN VENTURA NAVY BOMBER STYLE JACKET

My collection of bomber jackets and sweats is growing every week at the moment and it’s soon to be even bigger when I purchase this from Pretty Green. It’s not too light, so ideal for the transition between winter and summer, and in a colour I don’t have, so it’s perfect for my wardrobe.

STANWHRECS

I’ve noticed quite few tonal shades around this season and the ‘tracksuit’ just became even smarter with more premium stretch fabrics. I never thought I would see the day I’m spending more money on smarter track pants. This offers maximum amount of comfort whilst still looking your best. To complete this look brands are offering smarter trainerspremium rucksacks and caps to fit in around this sports lux trend.

Even the denim brands are offering more and more luxury stretch options, this to keep up with the current dominance of sportswear brands.

ASICS LUX PACK GEL LYTE V SAND SUEDE TRAINERS

Asics my current favourite sneaker brand with a lot of new exciting designs coming through. I always try and link up colours when I’m styling or even dressing myself. I think it comes from years of merchandising on the shop floor, so I’ve gone for these Asics to go with the boss chinos. I would have to roll up chinos up slightly to finish the look.

Hmmm, some things change, and others don’t. I’ve now been with the company long enough to see through a spring / summer season and an autumn / winter season. I’ll be stocking up with my ‘go to’ brands from Fred PerryNudie and Barbour, but I’m looking at some of the sports luxe styles that are coming through. Some of the footwear from Android HommeCreative Rec and Adidas look sweet, and can be work in so many different ways.!

LACOSTE MARINE NAVY SLIM FIT COTTON TWILL TROUSERS

Everyone needs a good pair of go to trousers and these Lacoste slim fit trousers fit the bill exactly. Slim fitting but not too restrictive, the cotton twill is really robust and they keep their shape well so they’ll be wearable for a good few seasons. You can pair this with a polo for a more casual look or a nice oxford shirt and a pair of shoes for a smarter appearance.
