Sunshine-season is upon us and we’ve got six looks to keep you stylish as the mercury rises…
From the beach to the bar:
Our first look is focused around the HUGO Jago swim shorts. A striking repeat-pattern look in a subtle, monochrome colourway is accented with the red logo to the thigh. A short fit gives a modern, confident feel and looks as good on the sand as it will in the streets. The Gramicci short sleeve camp shirt in a black shell fabric is light-weight and breathable. A square, relaxed shape means its perfect for over a t-shirt or worn open on those beach days. The Mallet logo slides in black are a summer essential; a simple silhouette with a luxury touch. We’ve added a BOSS side bag with a tonal strap, perfect for carrying your essentials around with you, and a pair of chunky modern BOSS sunglasses. If you’re staying local for your summer escape, add a light layer with the Rains waterproof jacket in an off-white hue; it’s light, water resistant and a good investment for the seasons ahead.
This look has an earthy hues theme; khakis, greens and browns tie the looks together perfectly. The t-shirt from Forty features their iconic logo with a camo infill. Paired perfectly with the Starfish Sustainable swim shorts from BOSS and the Sean Slides which continue the colour-story. The block-colour bucket hat comes from Barbour (for more on the hats to invest in this summer, check out our latest blog) and the tan-toned wait pack is from Polo Ralph Lauren. If you need a light layer, invest in the Norse Projects Fraser Sweatshirt from their ‘Tab Series’ in a utility khaki colourway.
A coastal stroll? A jungle hike? A city exploration? Whatever you have planned, this look will see you do it in style. Let’s start with those shorts. Gramicci are famed for their climbing-come-casual legwear and the Shell Packable G Shorts do not disappoint. We went with the bold purple colourway which is surprisingly wearable. The fabric is super lightweight making them a must-pack-piece if you’re counting those kilos for your luggage. The Quintino T-Shirt from Napapijri sits perfectly with the shorts and the graphic to the back adds interest and colour to a muted front design. A new brand to Woodhouse for summer, Chaco make sports sandals that are build for exploration. The Sierra is a classic style and fits our brief to perfection. We added a super-light layer in the form of the Callan Tech Hooded Jacket from Forty and a go-anywhere backpack from Armani Exchange. The finishing touch comes from Ebbet’s Field Flannel with one of their classic vintage-inspired ball caps in a bold orange hue.
At first glance, this looks like a pretty straight forward look to build and to wear but on closer inspection, you’ll find layers of quality and streetwear heritage built in. A classic white t-shirt comes from streetwear royalty, Maharishi and features an embroidered pocket design which stands it out from the rest. The Overshirt is from Farah and has a light layered feel with a patchwork design. Premium stretch cargo shorts from White Mountaineering are subtle, stylish and seriously sturdy. The striking sneaker style from Karhu have a contrasting colourway and a classic feel. A pair of simple socks from Gramicci give a sporty feel to the look and a Billionaire Boys Club sports cap adds a finishing touch and a sense of street-ready style. A favourite in the Woodhouse office, the chunky amber-hued shades come from eyewear icons, Ray-Ban and have a vintage inspired feel with the Striped Havana colourway but a seriously modern, pronounced silhouette.
It wouldn’t be a summer lookbook without a little sunshine-yellow and this polo from Polo Ralph Lauren fits the bill to perfection. A pair of staple shorts from Danish tastemakers, Norse Projects keeps things light and on-brand. PS Paul Smith footwear is a must-check-out collection this some with some amazing new silhouettes and the same premium quality we have come to expect. This style is a classic leather cup sole and paired with white socks they definitely have a Wimbledon-worthy feel. Some simple touches come in the way of sunglasses from Oliver Peoples and a festival-feeling bucket hat from Pretty Green. An optional extra layer for those evening-chills comes from Polo Ralph Lauren with the embroidered logo hoodie in a crowd-pleasing green.
We definitely saved the best for last. Floral shirts are a summer mainstay but it’s easy to aim for Leo in Romeo & Juliet and end up channeling Ace Ventura. This version from Fred Perry is a pretty safe bet; a subtle colourway with bold-yet-refined print. A pair of the classic Prepster shorts from Polo Ralph Lauren are a summer must-have and anchor this look perfectly along with the iconic Arizona Birkenstocks. A few luxury accessories elevate the look even more; baby cord sports cap from Norse Projects, Clubmaster classics from BOSS and a timeless tote from Filson. The layering option also comes from Fred Perry; a bomber collar and subtle hue have a truly laid-back and minimal feel. Summer styling? Completed it, mate.
