With LCM Autumn / Winter 16 collections taking place in the last week we take a look back to June of 2015 at the key trends that dominated the runways for this upcoming season. We noticed a lot of suede and burnt oranges but here are the key pieces that will keep you up to date with the growing fashion statements to enter the collections for men this Spring.
Green is already a colour that is has featured heavily in previous collections so with any luck you’ve got some in your wardrobe that will be suitable to match the growth in this colour. However, there are many shades of green and adding a lighter tone should give that summer vibe your craving even in the typical english weather. It isn’t one to be leaving the fashion palette any time soon, but there is certainly a dominance in this truly versatile colour that will last all through the year.
Again the Bomber is another style that we have already witnessed take off last season but there is just no collection high street or not that haven’t featured this particular cut. It comes in many colours and fabrics, so you are sure to find one that would fit in with your own taste. We would recommend banging two trends in one and give the suede a chance. It is a beautiful fabric which can add a little elegant edge to your look.
You may have noticed the runways are featured a more flowing fit to the tailored trouser and you may think that it is a step too far. But we certainly believe this is a start to a trend that is set to take off and yes in years to come we will be looking back saying ‘what were we thinking’ but for now it will be a grower for sure. If you aren’t yet convinced you could try the baggy shorts this summer. Paired with the right apparel they can certainly pass off as smart.
There’s no happy medium in this seasons trends – if you can’t get your head around baggy how about even further cropped shorts. You may be thinking this trend is a relief, but you need to be conscious of the common faux pas of the typical ‘board shorts’ tan line this summer. So as they are in the swimming trunks zone, their acceptability anywhere outside of a holiday destination is debatable; we would recommend to stick with the length that flatters your body type.
It may have come as a shock when the floral and outlandish patterns were being thrown onto the catwalk, but now we have gained trust with the designers that thought that grand up we can confidently say that this new jungle prints trend will be a hit with the previous experience on how to wear patterns the right way. But incase you weren’t one to embrace it first time round a quick tip would be to keep it minimal, and use one statement piece with neutrals.
