Workout Series: Fit-in Four Steps with H.I.I.T

We all know too well the feeling of getting home and after a long slog in the office and not having the positive thought of taking yourself back out to the gym. If this is you there is now a 16-minute fix to a guilt free missed episode at the gym and kick yourself back into action.

On the other hand you may well fuel your habit of spending on designer clothing and not quite set yourself up a membership. If you’ve got the labels and need the body to match then your efforts will not be wasted, there is a way to design both effectively. Follow these steps daily (with maybe a few rest days) and you’ll be on your way to a fitter and healthier you in no time.


Using your own bodyweight has broken through for techniques in keeping fit recently and we think the best course of action is the Tabata workout. Over the years there have been many styles of workout that you have probably heard of over the years and all of them are meant to help you reach your fitness goals. Whatever your goals are, most exercise programs can help you reach them , as long as you stick to the plan. This is the perfect solution when you have little time and takes on the H.I.I.T (High-Intensity Interval Training) approach and only lasts four minutes but could feel to last the longest four minutes you’ve ever endured.

You push yourself as hard as you can for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds until you complete eight sets. You can do a variety of exercises but we have provided a few examples that work a balance of your large muscles groups most effectively.

Tabata is great to get a quick workout in if you’re short on time you need to switch up your routine, or you want improve endurance and speed. Incorporate this type of workout into your fitness routine and produce results. The length of time does not hinder the results although if you feel you have time to work out longer there is no problem with continuing your progress, there are additional exercises you can add to increase your performance, but the fact is you don’t need to. Another key thing to remember is enjoy your routine – and if you get bored there are plenty of exercises that you can incorporate to add variety into your workout
